Default Your favorite Slipcovers of 2009

Is it just me or in 2009, has anybody else noticed an increasing trend of awesome slipcovers? Most notably the Disney blu-rays. I hope it continues and companies continue to outdo one another.

My favorites are:
1.Sleeping Beauty
2.Pinnochio
3.9 (This one is simply beautiful)

I was sad that Dark Crystal nor Labyrinth didn't have covers.

I really despise slip covers. It's a trend I wish would go away.

One more thing to get damaged, or have stickers on it. They look out of place in a media rack. They are hard to cram into a bubble mailer for shipping. Just more junk to have around with packaged media that doesn't serve any purpose.

Kind of like all the advertising flyers and other garbage they put inside of Blus that I always throw away.

They're like dust jackets on hardcover books...only not as nice

Oh, and I hate that I can't throw them away because if I ever want to resell/trade the Blu, I'll get less value for it because it's not "complete" if I don't have the darn slip...!

I put my Blu_rays on a bookshelf so it makes them look like books which gives them a sophisticated look compared to the naked plastic case. Real classy.

1) Terminator Salvation: simply beautiful
2) Star Trek (Love paramount's slipcovers with the suit-like aspect and the bd art itself is the underneath. iron man's is awesome)
3) Public Enemies: grainy look=awesome 1930s feel.

up's is awesome too just because up is awesome. if inglourious basterds made the slipcover this poster:

with the bat and german helmet the case it'd probably be my #1.

paramount slipcovers are a tad bit too fucking short, leaving a tiny bit of case atop or below the slip exposed. they all fail in my eyes.

the best studio for slips, imo, was New Line, in the dvd era. they'd do embossing, in addition to creative ways to make different slip/cover combinations, with holes/rips in the slip for effect.

disney slips are unimaginative, just same top and bottom. a big meh.
