Default Pinocchio Blu-Ray has a significant BD-Live update (PLEASE READ)

Just bought the Pinocchio Blu-ray, selected "Disney BD-Live Network" and received this message:

What's New
Pinocchio Update #1: 3-10-2009
- Registration is no longer required to access the Disney BD-Live Network; however some features require authenication

-The Disney BD-Live network now has a new feature: The Virtual Living Room. Watch your movies with other connected users, answer questions, and learn fun facts about others currently with you on the "virtural couch"!

-This update also includes general bug-fixes and improvements

That's cool. Hopefully this authentication process is a little simpler than their ridiculous registration is. Unfortunately this doesn't fix the fact that Doucheney neglected to include BD-Live functionality on their Blu-ray releases in Canada.

You know what would be really sweet, if they added "it all actually works" to that feature list... then then I'm demanding

so they went from an extensive registration process to no registration at all?
that seems rather strange.
what about all the pedophiles they were so worried about?
did they sprinkle fairy dust on them and make them all go away?

They didn't say you could participate in a movie chat with out authentication, just that you don't need to authenticate to get on the bd-live network. I'm guessing they will require auth to do a movie chat. I haven't tested out the bd-live on pinocchio yet though.

Can they use BD Live for fixing the missing dialogue issues with this latest release ?

It would be great if they could as it would save having to send the disc in when the inevtiable recall program gets underway.

It's now been confirmed the UK disc has all the missing dialogue which means an exchange program is more than likely.

I doubt they would do a recall... but I'm not the one to say.

They did do a recall for PTOC curse of the black pearl, so if there is missing dialoge then I wouldn't be shocked to hear of a recall. That said, I'm supprised to hear reports of this issue. I watched the bluray fairly recently (north american ed.) and I didn't notice any such thing. Is this perhaps just a UK release issue?
