Default James Bond packaging questions

So the individual volumes of the Bond movies are in Steelbook cases, so are the collection sets also in the Steelbooks, or are they in regular cases?

From what I understand, steelbooks are at Best Buy only. Collection sets are in regular cases; stand-alones (excluding Casino Royale re-release) are regular cases and steelbooks, with the latter being more expensive by a few USD.

Do you think they will do them all in Steelbook? I don't want to buy any them (well, the only 4 that are worth buying again in this set) only to have some of them in Steelbooks and some not.

Rumour is that Best Buy will release the next batch of six in steelbook editions, which makes it look very likely that all of them will be in steelbook. I do find it troubling, however, that the Casino Royale re-release didn't get a steelbook.

Agreed, but then it would mean that they'd have to do Quantum as well.

I don't believe the new Casino Royale is part of their steelbook releases, only the Fox/MGM releases. Since Quantum is being release by Sony, I don't believe it will be steelbook.

casino royale and quantum of solace are distributed theatrically and on home video by sony/mgm where as the connery through brosnan films are distributed by mgm via fox

for better or worse sony after years of lawsuits and trying to get there own unofficial james bond movies produced (which were essentially remakes of thunderball) when sony was part of the group that bought ownership into mgm studios they got themselves the rights to be co distributors on any future bond films.

Since it's Tuesday Morning here is THE answer on Bond Packaging:

Collection: Are three discs in a flip-out cardboard case. Not individually packaged.
Individually: All the covers look the same and are in typical blu-ray cases. Best Buy has exclusive Steelbook editions on all six (that look very nice). Fox/MGM (has told me to my face) that their plans are continue to do the steelbooks for Best Buy. As mentioned above, Casino Royale and QoS are not released by Fox/MGM, so steelbook is not a yes with them (as of now). And yes, the steelbook cases are the standard bd case size.

yeah it had already been reported about the papercrap packaging of the sets in another thread. not that everyone would have seen that.
I was somewhat surprised that the above poster was unaware.
they are a good budget option though imo.

I just thought of one more question. Do you know is the Steelbook cases are one shipment only and then BB will get the regular cases?

Good thing you just said that about the collections, now I will definitely not waste my money on them, especially since I only care about 2 of the 3 movies in each one.
