Default Disney FINALLY abandoning "Swish" packaging?

Have anyone noticed that the recently announced Ratatouille's case art doesn't feature the "swish" overlay that has been on all previous Disney BD titles?

This looks like it's the slip case art. Does anyone think that the case will look the same? If so it's definitely a step in the right direction. All the studios should get rid of this unsightly "swish" style designs on their box art; namely Lions Gate, Disney, Sony(not as bad, but still there on the inside and back), Universal and Weinstein.

The funny thing is that Lions Gate didn't have this kind of design at first.

or could it be that is a PIXAR title! dummm dee duuummm. It takes more then one title to attempt to prove "abandonment" dont you think?

Side note, I like the swoosh alot.

Looks like the new Pirates cover art abandoned the swish too.

Personally, I think the new Pirates cover is kind of lame. Boring cover. Disney can do better.

I hope they do. I've been complaining about that since it first came out. It takes up 1/3 of the case.

I don't fancy the swoosh either, but I'm hoping they'll keep it for the third POTC, just because I want it to match with the first two, and I think it looks a lot better than the cover without the swoosh.

this will make it easier for them to just do a normal cover and not deal with the swoosh when they design the packaging. less work for the cover designers, hehe

Cars also doesn't have the STANDARD swoosh, but it's still swooshified. Disney has changed packaging design, just like universal and lionsgate have both dropped the holographic silver spines, and paramount dropped the silver border and the Blu-Ray (bastards)

Pirates does look out of place cover wise, but not due to no swooshy retardation. It just looks all dark and shit. But I don't bloody care, I'll only see the spine unless it's in my player.

I like the swoosh but really don't care since it's only a case and the only thing you see 99.9% of the time is the spline in the DVD rack... as long as Disney continues with their incredible PQ and AQ I would be satisfied with a generic white cover with black lettering and no picture.

Disney has killed the swoosh... Both the Cars and Pirates art has been revised to be swooshless.. Ratatouille was never shown with a swoosh.
