Default Oh God I think Im going neutral... ALL CAUSE OF A BUNCH O DUMB ROBOTS!

Alright I am so physced about Tranformers in HD and now that its HD DVD only I thing Im going neutral. Anyone thats read my posts know Im a staunch BD supporter and I still am, but the awesomeness that is the Tformers movie (coupled with one or two other titles like the Thing) make me want to go Neutral. I wont be calling me self purple, since I still want BD to win, so there it is! So since Im new to the HD DVD camp, ive gotta ask, which is the cheapest player right now?

i believe Toshiba HD-A2 is the entry level model. i have this and it's a workhorse, no problems.

also don't forget HD-DVD exclusives like The Kingdom and Iron Man.

Umm Do you think it will have any problems playing Transformers? What with it being the oldest model and all

i don't think so, the safest thing to do is to have the latest firmware update. I have this and the first generation unit, RCA HDV5000 and i have no problems with it.

Also, another HD-DVD exclusive is American Gangster.

The A1 is the oldest model (the A2 is second generation) and it plays every title that I have ever bought or rented, so I wouldn't be all that concerned about the age of the model.

How do you get firware updates. Do you connect it with Ethernet? Or do you buy/burn a disc?

Welcome Gorilla !!! I will be going neutral although completely biased to HD when the Dual Samsung comes out. I have the A2 and it works superbly. Had problems earlier this year with CoM and The Good Shepherd but no problems with anything since, I just get the discs sent to me for upgrade. Don't like all the messing around with downloads.
