Default Planet Earth and Price made me take the plunge

One day, I went to amazon.com and saw planet earth. I saw the trailer clip of what planet earth was going to promise, especially if high def version was available. So $499 PS3, or $232 HD DVD HD-A2? I couldn't resist the lower price. And I loved it since! I've been an HD-A2 owner since August 8th, and HD-A20 owner since August 30th. Ha!

HD-A20 was the second plunge because I saw the $300 + 3 Combo HD DVD + 5 HD DVD deal. I'm gonna lend the A2 to my other half...for now!

hehe, my Mom saw Planet Earth the other night after seeing it on SDTV. She was like "wow, it looks 3D! How do they do that!" Last night, she saw a few minutes and I think she's thinking about a HDTV now because she said something about how nice it looked and that she wouldn't mind looking into something like what I have (50" Plasma). And, if she does, she will be going HD if I have anything to say about it, which I will as her sole tech adviser

Same as me. It was the price of the A-2 got me into high def. The first HD DVD title I purchased was Planet Earth. Highly Recommended! As time goes by, I'm finding more reasons why HD DVD was a great choice (e.g. Heroes... what a great show!!!)

Default Planet Earth...

...is one of the reasons why I wanted an HD player. Caught it on Discovery HD and was in awe. Looking forward to finding the BBC copy before christmas for a good price.

You'll probably love Galapagos. It's a little different from Planet Earth, but like PE, it has some of the most stunning PQ on HD.
I got my HD DVD player several months before Planet Earth was released, but getting and watching PE when it came out re-confirmed for me at the time that HD is it for me. I haven't bought an SD DVD in at least nine months And probably won't anymore unless I buy some of the 1940s B&W WWII movies (which are unlikely to come out on HD for a variety of reasons).

Planet earth and price was the very same reason I went red getting the a2 at walmart for $99. I almost paid the same price for Planet Earth as I did the player!

Price was a big factor for me as well. I purchased the xbox 360 add-on last X-mas and have been enjoying HD-DVD since. I've been in Iraq since July, but I am still purchasing movies by e-mail. I will have a large library waiting for me when I get home Aug 2008.

Planet Earth HD DVD has been the #1 title on the Amazon charts for over two weeks.

That must mean that every single person that buys a player there also gets Planet Earth.

The price of the player and Transformers got me to do it. Planet Earth helped a little as well.
