Hi,
I bought a 360 after years of not owning a console (last one was a NES) plus I have a MCE computer and I thought it woud be cool to use the 360 as a media centre extender. With the HD DVD player being a measley $200.00 (my first DVD player cost $800.00, my first VHS player $1200.00) I couldn't help but to join in the HD fun! I'm sure glad I did. |

You are right, the prices sure have come down fast for HD players. I remember my first progressive DVD player at $600 and I can't remember quite how much I paid for my first regular DVD player (before progressive became mainstream) but I am sure it cost a pretty penny as well.

That is the same reason I went with HD DVD. It was just to inexpensive to get the add on to not pass it up.
