Talking I just made the UK HD leap

This morning I took the plunge and moved up from an Xbox 360 add-on to the Toshiba HD-E1.
Why? It plays my beloved HD DVDs and upscales my SD discs, it gives my HDTV some hard work to do for a change, I get to use the HDMI socket and not just component and whatnot, Firmware updates can iron out any wrinkles in the new format, I get dedicated HD playback and less fan noise, I get Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind HD, 12 Monkeys, Dune, the superior 300 and low priced imported discs on all of them. Also dual-format releases like the Untouchables, all will look beautiful as intended.
I can import duty-free across Europe, get an excellent exchange rate on American discs and just love my films that little bit more.
More of my favourite films of recent years have been Universal releases. The format has a more than healthy release slate and there's nothing on god's earth that would make me pay £425 for a Gaystation when there's not a single game out I want for the thing.
Like a lot of folks here, I'm a hi-def supporter. My eyes have been HD ready for years, now my home cinema is too.

I chose HD DVD.
