Default Im Neutral!!!!

I've had my PS3 since launch day, and i've been very very happy with it. But the fact that Universal backs HD-DVD means i won't be seeing a lot of great films.

then.... i saw the A2 for $200 and i had to bite -___-

The Bourne series did it for me. I still fully support blu ray though, im gonna hold off on all the Warner titles til they go blu. So the player's only gonna be for Universal.

Congratulations! There is nothing wrong with being Neutral; I love having access to everything in Hi Def. Despite bad press lately, Universal has been doing fantastic work on HD DVD.

I think you made a good decision. It makes sense to go dual format, like many of us, in order to enjoy the full range of movies available. Also you migh want to check out some of the Warner HD DVD releases since titles such as 300 have excellent special features not available on the BD version (but if you don't care about special features, then it does not matter).

I'd get Warner's BATMAN BEGINS and V FOR VENDETTA if I were you on HD DVD. Who knows when they will arrived on BD, and they are fantastic discs.

the temptation is VERY VERY strong... but the lack of money helps me hold back a little. It's hard to support both formats being an 18 yr old. Batman Begins is my a top 5 film for me and I would rebuy it over so many times. But since I'm still a firm supporter for BD im gonna give Warner the Q4 to redeem itself.

Welcome to HD DVD...I've been LOVING it!!!

I think that for people who can afford to go dual format, it's a smart thing to do.

I started in hd dvd and now have decided to buy a blu-ray player, the bd-1200 by sammy is at such a sweet price, but might try to hold off for sammys 3rd gen player. Nothing wrong with having the best of both worlds.

one thing i think i've been spoiled by the ps3 is the boot up time/load time. The PS3 is tremendously faster in every aspect compared to the A2. Even the fast forwarding feels slower on the A2 compare to ps3

I began with HD DVD and added BLU RAY when I got my tax refund. I'm such a film lover and wanted to be able to watch everything in Hi Def. It has never really been about one format over the other; I tend to like HD DVD more but have warmed up to BLU RAY alot lately.

The 360 is also very fast with HD DVD movies. Btw, fast forwarding speed is purely a design decision per manufacturer, it is not based on how fast the hardware is but how fast they think the consumer wants it to go. Btw, on my PS3, one of my gripes is it fast forwards/reverses way too fast.

This had actually been a problem with computers in the past where fast forward speed was linked to the speed of the CPU, the problem is the same program on a faster machine would fast forward way too fast (I remember some of those early programs). Later on they learned the lesson and fast forward speed is controlled through separate timing.

Yeah there are differences. The A2 is slow to turn on. Though when on it is indeed a few seconds longer to load a movie than the PS3. One thing I've noticed is Blu-ray menus take a little bit longer to come up. Also notice that when you hit the eject button on the PS3 remote its like a five second delay for the disc to pop out. Most times I end up pushing the eject button again thinking it didnt get it the first time but then by that time it ejects. All in all both sides have their weaknesses and are still in their beginning stages, so I cant blame them.

Hmm lets see...Under 200 for Xbox 360, with 2 free DVDs instantly! The Bourne Series, Batman Begins, Inside Man in fall, and a lot of my favourite titles. I plan on getting a Blu Ray burner for the HTPC in a bit when prices <200...Casino Royale, The Presige, Layer Cake probably ain't coming in HD

Anchor Bay USA... Romero zombie movies... I am neutral too in my mind, but HD DVD is my passion, my reason for choosing HD DVD was the movies released at the time (Jan. 2007) + Universal (horror classics...!!) + the fact that my favorite big studio Warner also supported it, + the price (allthough I paid more than 500 dollars for my player at the time, a Germany import)

Intend to buy a blu-ray player soon
