Being a staunch HD-DVD supporter I had little interest in switching allegiances to Blu-Ray despite the obvious.
Anyway, think it was mid June when I had planned on purchasing a Wii and off I went to Gamestop, €250 in my wallet to pick one up along wth a copy of Mario Galaxy. Whilst in there I noticed an in-store promotion, a 40gb PS3 bundled with a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 and and free Sony remote & Blu Ray disc of my choice for the incredible price of just €430. Even I'm not that stupid. Ten minutes later I was out that door with my new PS3 and copies of Sweeney Todd & Metal Gear Solid. In hindsight I don't know which was the sillier, my former anti-Blu stance or that I was seriously considering blowing a sizeable chunk of what turned out to be my PS3 budget watching a fat plumber whooping and hollering as he jumps on mushrooms. |

The funny thing is, I've got the Wii and my favorite thing to do is download old games on the Virtual Console
![]() I mean, I like it and everything, but I consider it a supplement to owning either a PS3 or 360 if you're at all a gamer. I also thought the same thing about my Gamecube- Mario, Metroid, and Zelda will always be enough for me to get their system, but like the OP said- it's not the draw it used to be. I suppose thats a good thing- it's okay to grow up a little bit ![]() |
