Default Because Super Mario is no longer the draw he once was to me

Being a staunch HD-DVD supporter I had little interest in switching allegiances to Blu-Ray despite the obvious.

Anyway, think it was mid June when I had planned on purchasing a Wii and off I went to Gamestop, €250 in my wallet to pick one up along wth a copy of Mario Galaxy. Whilst in there I noticed an in-store promotion, a 40gb PS3 bundled with a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 and and free Sony remote & Blu Ray disc of my choice for the incredible price of just €430.

Even I'm not that stupid. Ten minutes later I was out that door with my new PS3 and copies of Sweeney Todd & Metal Gear Solid.

In hindsight I don't know which was the sillier, my former anti-Blu stance or that I was seriously considering blowing a sizeable chunk of what turned out to be my PS3 budget watching a fat plumber whooping and hollering as he jumps on mushrooms.

The funny thing is, I've got the Wii and my favorite thing to do is download old games on the Virtual Console

I mean, I like it and everything, but I consider it a supplement to owning either a PS3 or 360 if you're at all a gamer. I also thought the same thing about my Gamecube- Mario, Metroid, and Zelda will always be enough for me to get their system, but like the OP said- it's not the draw it used to be. I suppose thats a good thing- it's okay to grow up a little bit
