the funny thing is i had kind of chosen to go red but didn't get around to getting myself an HD-DVD player...i had two 360's die on me and had been without a console for most of 2007.
i was blindsided with a PS3 for Xmas and i exchanged a copy of FF:the Spirits Within that i received for Black Hawk Down. I truly did not expect much but oh how wrong i was....blown away sirs, blown away. now i'm hooked and find myself struggling to keep the intent to still purchase SD. My PS3 could not have come at a better time and i don't really know what i ever saw in red. ![]() |

Because HD-DVD offers less than Blu-ray in terms of PQ/AQ

the ridiculous thing is that it was kind of a subliminal thing to me in that i prefer the shade of red hd-dvd used to blu's blue. even more crazy is that once my g/f said the words, "something about blu rays packaging makes me want them really bad, but not so with hd-dvd...i think it's the blue." all of a sudden it hit me too. and like i said i don't know what i saw in hd-dvd...because back then i didn't know much at all about the technical specs.

To be honest ... if the PS3 didn't have one built in, I'd probably still be using my upconvert player ... and playing my PS2 (until it died ... it was on it's way out).
So Sony's strategy worked on this guy!
