Default So today, I went out and bought...

I got an 80GB Playstation 3, and decided to return an HD DVD Constantine (that they sent me for free), and get 3:10 to Yuma on Blu Ray.

I couldn't be happier. The Playstation 3 is a great system and 3:10 to Yuma is a great movie.

How long did it take you guys to make the switch to Purple?

Congratz on a great purchase... you won't regret it

Did you happen to buy the whole package as well? (i.e. BT remote, HDMI cable, etc).

p.s. don't mind the PS3 haters... comes with the territory...

As far as games, I suggest warhawk, ut3, cod4, heavenly sword, r&c, uncharted, and time crisis 4 whose aiming system works better than the wii

Be sure and double check that it has the latest firmware updates. There have probably been a lot of updates (with some major improvements like playing Divx/AVI files, custom themes, new CD visualizations, etc., etc.)

I would also highly recommend getting hooked up wireless so you can take advantage of streaming your music, movies, and photos from your home computer. I haven't "loaded" a CD in many months - I just select it from my PS3 and play.

It will take you many days to go through all the features of the PS3.

Add another fan to the pile, the HD-DVD side keeps shrinking, don't sugar coat it, tell us how you really feel?

Jeez, I'm purple and I even think you're being a little harsh there. I have a HD-A2 and a PS3 and like them both quite a bit. The biggest problem with the PS3 is the lack of front display and DTS hi-res. other than that its a nice piece of equipment.

Congrats on your new PS3.

It took me almost a year and a half to go purple. I am glad I now did it, I can now enjoy all the movies in both formats.

Great choice! You wont be sorry.
I started out Blu, went purple a couple months later, with a heavy emphasis on Blu for content reasons.
