Disney
Why did I go blue?
Ratatouille, Cars, Enchanted, Finding Nemo, Sleeping Beauty
and the Promise of more Platinum Edition Disney movies in HD. I held out for Disney to go Red for a long time but caved in after I was stinking rich from my birthday+Christmas and got Ps3. As soon as I get some more cash I'm selling my SD copies of Rataouille and Cars on ebay and trading up
Is it normal for a straight 20 year old male to love Disney this much?
Answer: Yes, Yes it is

Just my Animated Disney movies. I know Anastasia isn't Disney but it gets to sit next to them out of respect.Last edited by LoveMeSomeHd; 01-20-2008 at 12:26 AM.

"Fantasia" is ideal as it's only music so they could just re-record all the tracks in Lossless 7.1.

As for "Lion King" you really need to pick up "Kimba the White Lion". Disney didn't even have the decency to credit Tezuka-sama for ripping off his creation wholesale. Granted he was honored but the decent thing would've been to credit him.
I'm hoping for Miyazaki like "Castle Of Cagliostro" and "Spirited Away". For the love of God Disney give us "Tron" soon as well! "Ducktales the Movie", "The Rescuers Down Under" and I know there are some others.HD DVD, the best in extras!
My HD DVD list: "Clerks 2", "The World's Fastest Indian", "The Thing", "V For Vendetta", "Enter the Dragon" and "Casablanca".
My Blu-ray list: "Warriors Of Heaven and Earth", "Curse Of the Golden Flower", "Kung Fu Hustle", Weeds Season 2, "Rent", "Tekkonkinkreet",
"Lives Of Others", "Black Book", "Hairspray", "Kingdom Of Heaven: Director's Cut", Sanctuary S1, "Chungking Express", "Videodrome", "Contact", "Paprika". -

I'm curious...
Disney has a long history of putting titles on moratorium. How soon do you think they'll do this on Blu-Ray titles?Toshiba HD-A3

Well Disney usually only does this with their platinum editions which they release for a short time then put back in the vault. Recently I think Alladin went back in the vault so soon I'm sure the DVD will be hard to find. Disney has never done this with any Pixar movies or any other Dvds that weren't "classic Disney animation" ie Cindrella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and so on, so i'm sure Ratatouille, Pirates and Cars are safe. But Sleeping Beauty which will be Disney's first platinum edition blu ray disc will most certainly only get a limited time to be on store shelves before Disney selfishly hides it away again for close 7 years.
This practice has made Disney dvds such as Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, and Lion King extremely hard to find and thus often counterfeited and sold on ebay and other places. I remember when I first tried to start my Disney Dvd collection took me a few gos before I got a legit copy of Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.
My advice is when Sleeping Beauty gets released pick up a copy even if you don't plan to keep it, you'll be able to turn it over for a nice sum I'm sure on ebay in a year or two. Me though i'll be opening my copy up on the way home from the store

I've picked up a few movies over the years so that I'd have them available when friends bring their kids over. My nephew has really enjoyed some of the discs I've collected, and my cousin's kids have really enjoyed them as well.
A lot of the Disney/Pixar films have proven to be real hits, both for the kids and the parents. Even adults can enjoy some of the older Disney standards such as "Escape to Witch Mountain." Reminds me of how it used to be when Disney aired a movie every weekend.Toshiba HD-A3

Same here. I have kids and I enjoy Pixar movies as well. We own all of the Disney titles that are out on bluray right now.

Disney is exactly the same reason why I went Blu-ray. I had debated which format to go for, and even before I researched the two formats, I found out Disney was supporting Blu-ray, and my decision was made.
Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no apparent reason?! -

Disney was a HUGE supporter or Blu-ray. If they went RED it could have been the end for Blu-ray. Thankgoodness they didn't!
I went blu because it is simply a better format. more space means higher quality encode rates for video and audio. Java means better applications and it can grow to be smarter and better. I know HDDVD was easier, but in the long run it would have gotten old and eventually replace with a newer format. -

Disney is why I'm so angry about the BDA camp (especially SONY). They haven't had to throw out that much money for payolas and such but only trust Disney (which I think still sells most of the Blu-Rays of all studios).
@trueblue
Everything gets old. How do you know Blu-Ray will live forever (especially as Holographic medias are on the way).
And about the space: I talked about it already 10 times on several forums. Blu-Ray needs this more space to make up for the lesser cache. The space isn't used in any way for better encodes or more extras.
It's more like putting the same file on a media more than one time to save for loading times.PSN/XBL: BLINX1234
