Default Blu only for a few different reasons

I bought an hd dvd player five days before the initial launch along with two hd dvd movies.
I had so many problems with the player besides its extremly slow load times that I could not stand the HD-A1.
I bought an RCA player around a month later and basically it had the same problems such as taking far too long to sync with my projector, losing sync anytime that stop, menu ect was pushed and random freeze ups as well as a few lip sync issues on brand new hd dvd's.
This was before combos, or at least the 24 movies I had purchased were not combos.
I also had each of these players ask me on screen if I wanted to play the hd or sd side of a standard dvd, and quite a few other little quirks.

I was not impressed at all with the function of either player even after a firmware upgrade which seemed to fix nothing.
To add to this, most of the titles I bought were dd 5.1, and the one or two that were DD-THD would only play in two channels for most of the period I owned these two highly flawed players.

I then bought a Philips and later a Sony's first player.
Both these players functioned far better than either hd dvd player, and I only had one issue with freeze up on one disc (Speed) which was fixed via firmware within one week.
I loved the fact that all Sony and Disney titles a well as Fox titles had uncompressed and/or lossless on every single title.

I now also have a PS3 that is used for BD only, and believe it to be the very best HDM player bar none for function speed as well as being future proof.

I sold my hd dvd players a while back as well as the 24 titles, and have since bought 143 BD titles.

I find BD to be the far better format for functionality of its players, far better format for audio as well as the format with a far greater number of titles with reference P/Q A/Q or close to it titles.

Even if Toshiba finally did have a player that was as good as the PS3 (I am sure they don't from what others say) , I believe with 100% certainty that if there is not one HD optical format to go up against dvd soon, they will both remain nitchie until downloads take over in a few more years.
No way is two formats a good thing for mass adoption or stores that don't like stocking two competing formats titles and players, when they know they could be selling ten times as much stock if there were only one.

So my choice is the technically superior format, as well as the format that delivers HD audio as well as picture, on players that actually function correctly.
