Default Ahhhh screw it...I just bought a PS3

60GIG with the emotion chip. I need the ability to play PS2 games and I cannot stand missing out on the Rat. That damn Rat just cost me 600 bucks. And real money too, Canadian dollars.

I am now officially purple, but a dark reddish purple coz I won't buy a blu movie that doesn't have IME.

I am more than 90% confident that the PS3 will be 1.1 ready, it might take a time but Sony will figure it out.

Since there aren't too many movies that I want that are blu, I'll sell my five free movies to lower the total cost of this purchase.

I just want the Rat. That damn rat....i hate the rate....bitch...friggen french rat too...

I have an HD-A20 and a PS3 but leaned red because the extras did count. Bye Bye HD, you gave it your best, that's all we could ask. Sony, finish your damn product already!

The Numbers: 900+ DVDs (rapidly declining), 34 HD-DVDs (+1 on order, + 5 free), 17 BDs (+2 on order). Last movie: Close Encounters.

Shall I expect you to be a bit more friendly towards blu now?

And congrats on getting PS3...look forward to some awesome games end of this year and 2008 onwards. Notice how quiet the machine is

I will wait until BD catches up with HD with functionality, so talk to me in 2008!

Don't expect me to buy Spider-Man 3 either. I am looking at a Sense and Sensibility for the wife.

Might make her less mad at me!

Welcome aboard the purple train, now I am starting to like you again after that terrible "who needs 50GB writable discs, other than pirating" post.

Which 5 free movies are you getting? Also did you know that Amazon is offering 2 Free additional BD movies on the spot? in addition to the standard 5 free BD movies by mail?

Here is the link...you can probably still order it from Amazon and get y our 2 additional free BD movies, and when it arrives in the mail, you can take your other PS3 back to the store.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...blurayforum-20

Purchase a PLAYSTATION 3 and receive 7 free Blu-Ray movies. Purchase between September 17, 2007 and September 30, 2007, mail-in and instant offer. While supplies lasts.

Here's How It Works:

1. Check the boxes next to the PLAYSTATION 3 below as well as two Blu-ray discs that you'd like to order today. (Limit one console and three of each title per customer. Quantities are limited; order now before we run out!)

2. Make your purchase--the promotional discount will be applied at checkout. You will see a credit in your shopping cart.

3. Get 5 more discs for free: Download the mail-in rebate form, and print it out. When you receive your PLAYSTATION 3, fill out the form with your choice of movies--you'll need the UPC code located on the player's package--and send it in to the address indicated on the form by October 31, 2007.

Coming from you, Rob. I'm shocked... even impressed Enjoy your bloody rat! (just kidding about the bloody bit.)

Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the PS3.
I'm certainly very happy with mine. For pc compatibility I've had the best luck streaming & enjoying stored media from my pc with the Nero Media 7 thingy.
Anyways, Enjoy!!!

Too late, already bought it on SonyStyle Canada.

If I were traveling south in the next few weeks I'd amazon it, but I won't be going south until next year (maybe by then profile 1.1 will be out).

Duties/taxes etc: would kill me on this item.

The PS3 is really the only choice to get with BD, I was looking at the Samsung 1400 but it might not be 1.1 ready.

...Also...there is no need for burning 50gig discs. My home office HDD has two 500gig HDDs, one is a mirror of the first and external.

I'm not gonna swap out 10 50gig discs to backup my system.

If Disney goes neutral I am going to FREAK.

You hear that Igar, you bastard, you'd better keep to your speech that you gave yesterday.

For portability reasons, I guess I just REALLY hate my 250GB external disk...it just blows!!! Would much rather carry around writable BD-50's and bundleall of my South Park seasons together!

This may sound funny and a bit sarcastic, but Sony would go neutral before Disney does...

Owners should be harder on Blu-ray because they should want their product to be complete. If BD wins then I don't want to buy a half-assed product that's confusing and expensive.

ummmm...I hate to say this but...that is ... er.... pirating according to the DMCA.

You know ... copying South Park onto BD-Rs.

All you need to do is get a 2.5" hardrive that's in a portable enclosure. Much smaller. I'd rather carry around that enclosure than a bunch of discs. And those blank BDs are expensive.

Damn straight. As far as I am concerned until BD catches up with HD I simply will always buy HD.

I'll sell my old PS2 as well, may as well min. this cost.

I might get 20 bucks a movie for the five, that is 100.00, and 50.00 for the PS2 so I've lowered my cost to 450.00, which is ok for me.

So I can call Bill Hunt a dickhead and not be a fanboi.
