Reports are saying that it wasn't steroids but some other drug that is on the list of banned substances. I would be lying if I said I was surprised. Being from the boston area we were all pretty much immune to his antics until they got him traded. Manny being Manny....

They are saying that his doctor prescribed that drug to him to treat erectile dysfunction. What I read said that, usually people who take this drug have used steroids before. This has got to be embarassing for Manny!

So is it safe to say that this is a "down" year for Manny? Or has he just gotten soft with age? Looks like the Dodgers will need a lift now too. They're def. gonna miss all those 2 balls, no strike counts Manny would work.

well i am pretty sure that is the league punishment, no matter who it is for first time offenders

It's not... the last offender was Rafael Palmero two years ago and he got 10 days MAX for friggin' steroids... they upped it to 50 days specifically for this case to send a signal.. I personally think it's extremely excessive and I'm a Baltimore Fan that could care less about the Dodgers. 30-days should be the MAX, given that baseball is 5 months, that's 1/3rd of an entire season over pain medication.. which wasn't even considered a "performance enhancing" medication. That's bullshit right there... but that's the way they roll apparently. I still say it should be 1/5th of a season based on the substance involved, not 1/3rd.

It looks like they are covering something up. He would only need to use this if he was using another kind of steroid. To be 37 & not get it up there is something wrong with that ya know. I cracked up when I found out what it was for.
