Well, I recently downloaded the Firefox 3.01 update, and while I enjoy the way it looks, I can't stand how the search bar works anymore(where you type in the url name, might not be called search bar since the Google one is there too). So anyway, now, instead of acting like the old bar and when you'd type in say "for" and a drop down bar would show up completing the urls name, like, forums.highdefdigest.com, it now gives me everything that has for in it, even if it isn't a forum, or even if the for is in the last 3 digits of the web address.
My question is, if I have worded this right, "Is there a way to get the new search bar to act like the old one?" Thanks in advance.

I don't think that there is a way for you to change it back but I just typed "for" in my "address bar", or as this ones is called "The Awesome Bar", and the very first thing that popped up was HDD's forums. It takes a little getting use to but in the end I believe it is a very great improvement over the last generation.

I didn't like the "The Awesome Bar" and disabled it completely.
Completely disable the autocomplete list If you would rather not have Firefox display autocomplete results at all: 1. In the Location bar, type about:config, and press EnterReturn. * The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page. 2. Search for the preference browser.urlbar.maxRichResults. 3. Double-click the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults preference and enter a value of -1. 4. From the menu at the top of the Firefox windowbar, select FileFirefox and then select the ExitQuit FirefoxQuit menu item. 5. Restart Firefox again. Now when you type in the Location bar, no list of results will be shown. To re-enable the autocomplete list, follow the steps above, but set the value to 10 (which is the default value). |

Cool, I'll give it a try and see if I like that. I really just want it to act like the old location bar.
