Default Saxophonist from Dave Matthews Band Dies.

Just found this out from my EW e-mail. That's too bad he died from an ATV accident. I never saw them in concert but they had a few good albums.

R.I.P. LeRoi Moore.

Mischa.

That is unfortunate. I'm a little afraid to admit this, but I am a big DMB fan. I've seen them live 4 times and it's always great. It'll be interesting to see how the band moves on.

No offense to the departed, but I didn't even know DMB had a sax player... I was a little shocked to see it had frontpage news in the Entertainment section.. if it was someone like "Big Daddy" Clearence from the E-Street Band I'd know who that was in a heartbeat... but this was almost like hearing the Tamborine player from "Heart" died.... who???

It's understandable. You must not have listened to there music much; the sax if definately there.

Yea, I didn't much.. just the popular tunes... I thought he had a horn-section but not a prominent band-member like that.

It's interesting how many bands have guys die along the way.. Almost makes you wonder if it's safer to join the Military or join a Band

Powerstation, (who remade "Get it on - Bang a gong") only have 2 remaining members alive.. (John and Andy Taylor) their Black Drummer died, and like 2 months later Robert Palmer shockingly died. It's like wtf???

they havent made a good record since before these crowded streets (busted stuff would have been good...if it was released when it was originally being worked on with lillywhite) but this is still a shock. him and the violinist are two elements that definitely set them apart. glad i got to see the original lineup back in the day right when before these crowded streets came out when it was just the 5 members with no one else. hopefully they can complete a good record in honor of him.
