Did anybody else watch UFC 86 last night?

What a BS unanimous decision. I'll admit it was close but there is no way Forrest Griffin won that fight. In order to beat the Champion you have to beat him convincingly, that was not convincingly. It was close but in all cases the champion always gets the nod when its close.

Anyone else have thoughts, agree?? disagree??

Yeah I agree. As much as I like Griffin, I don't think he won that fight. I was at a bar last night watching it and pretty much everyone started booing. Both him and rampage are great fighters, but that was a terrible decision.

Is it just me or have the last few main event fights been something of a let down. It just looks like these guys aren't fighting the way they used to. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy UFC and will always watch it over boxing, but there are just too many fights going to decisions.

Yeah the people I was watching it with couldn't believe it either. Even the crowd boo'd the decision. Even though it was mostly a Forrest Griffin crowd. The thing I couldn't believe is how cool Rampage was with it. I also could not believe how lopsided the scores were, Even though I don't feel Forrest won I could still understand why someone would make a case for him but one judge had it 49-46 which means he felt Forrest won 4 rounds to 1 when Jackson clearly won rounds 1 and 4, round 3 is the one in question that people are debating, some people feel Forrest won round 3, I fell otherwise.

I feel Griffin did win it but he shouldnt of been scored as high as he was. He had the leg kicks that werent being answered by Rampage. His ground game also proved no match either for Rampage. You can make a case still for Rampage but i do think Griffin got him in 3 rounds with Rampage winning 2 rounds.

Rampage himself seemed like he knew he was beat the moment the fight ended. You could see the disappointment on his face. Hes a tough bastard and classy in defeat but the guy needs to work on his ground game. Hes beautiful on his feet but if he tossed in a ground game he would be even scarier.

Regardless, Lyota Machida will be taking the belt away from Griffin whenever they do indeed fight and Rampage might get rocked for a third time by Wanderlei Silva which is the most likely matchup for the both of them.

I think Rampage could beat Silva, I don't think Silva is as good as he used to be. Machida will destroy Griffin though, I don't think that will even be a match. Unless Griffin adds to his game and can maintain his energy throughout the fight, I don't think he'll beat Machida.

i think Wanderlei just needed to adjust to being in the octagon. I dunno though if Rampage can take him. Wanderlei whooped his ass the two times they did fight and I think it might just be a matter of Wanderlei having his number similar to Rampage having Liddells and Anderson Silva having Rich Franklins.

we'll see but yeah i definitely see Machida getting that belt and holding onto it for a bit

Machida is good but he hasnt really done anything in the UFC to wow me. Sure he's undefeated but hasnt really "destroyed" anybody. I think the winner of Liddell/Evans will fight Griffin next or atleast the winner of Liddell/Evans will face Machida and that winner will fight Griffin, either way Griffin will lose.

Don't even get me started if they give Anderson Silva a shot at Griffin. But first we need to see how how he does at 205 later this month.

Rampage got robbed last night. Forrest is the golden TUF boy for UFC so I wasn't surprised.

I hope they get the NSAC to legalize knees to the head on the ground to make things more exciting...like PRide was.

Machida is not a wow type fighter though. I doubt he will ever put on a exciting matchup. He sets forth his game plan and executes to perfection. He is like the Bernard Hopkins of mma. I personally enjoy watching him and think he will be the top guy for awhile. I dunno if Chuck-Rashad will get Machida. I think at the moment Machida vs Griffin makes the most sense.

I'm thinking we might actually end up seeing Rampage-Jardine before Rampage-Wanderlei but who knows

I watched the fight again and this time I have it a 47-47 draw.

R1- Jackson -10 Griffin-9 (Jackson almost knocked him out)
R2- Jackson- 8 Griffin-10 (Jackson did nothing offensively, Griffin had him on his back and had all the offense)
R3- Jackson -10 Griffin-9 (Close but Jackson had more effective strikes)
R4- Jackson -10 Griffin-9 Close but Jackson was more effective)
R5- Jackson -9 Griffin-10 (Close but Griffin was more effective)

The official score cards were released and two of the judges gave Griffin the first round. Unbelievable, he almost got knocked out twice in that round!!

Tonight you have UFC Fight Night: Silva vs Irvin for FREE on Spike but there's also the stacked Affliction Banned Pay-Per-View tonight which is $40 (or $50 for the HD version) Which one are you planning on watching?

Exclamation WOW! Chuck Liddell is knock-tha-@#%$ out!

Damn! And Evans is not even that impressive of a fighter to begin with. To be knocked out from a wide swing like that was crazy. To Evans credit though, the punch was so hard that you can still hear it even on this crappy quality video. Enjoy.

Liddell vs. Evans
