"Georges St. Pierre was the first do it, and it's just sort of an inside joke," Evans said.

Evans said St. Pierre had heard it was supposed to bring good luck -- according to some ancient fighting myths, anyway. And if there's anything the New Mexico-based Team Jackson group knows, it's unity. Led by famed fight strategist and head trainer Greg Jackson, the team has created a sense of brotherhood among team members Evans, St. Pierre, Keith Jardine, Nate Marquardt, Joey Villasenor and others.

"Georges said it was supposed to good luck or something, so I said, 'Cool, alright,'" Evans said, laughing.
I didn't say he played with his nipples because he had gynocomastia. I say he had gynocomastia because he used to have the saggy tits of someone who does. I've seen gynocomatia. I know what it looks like. He likely got it fixed.

As for Rampage-Wanderlei III, I really have to believe Wanderlei is in Rampage's head. He gave Rampage probably the two worst beatings of his career (although you could argue Shogun).

Regarding Greg Jackson, I believe he has one of the most successful camps in MMA, but I really don't credit him too much for GSP's success. GSP is my favorite fighter, and I think his success is due to his natural athletic ability and his rotating training regimine (training with a plethora of specialist coaches). His other fighters have seen mixed success.
I think it depends. While I love exciting fighters as much as the next guy. Machida is a rare talent. His elusiveness while boring it still works for him. There is only so long he can be denied a title shot. I think what he brings to mma you can say is boring but I look at it as an art. It isnt easy to compile the win streak he has. As for Rampage i am sure Wanderlei is in his head but I think Rampage is more comfortable in the octagon with the ufc rules. Wanderlei is still getting used to life in the ufc. You have to remember he had the loss to chuck and his win over Jardine gave him no experience at all just gave him another win.

Now as for GSP hes also my favorite fighter. His ability I would say has def taken him far but Greg Jackson has fine tuned him beyond belief. Before GSP was just freakish and precise with his striking. Quick and elusive. Greg Jackson seems to of taken all those tools and implement great strategy.

The win over Koscheck was crazy with Jackson getting GSP to outwrestle a all american and putting Koscheck on his back, the destruction of Hughes, keeping Serra grounded and confusing the shit out of him, and taking Fitch apart piece by piece with the stand up and takedowns. I think Greg Jackson deserves a ton of respect because who knows if GSP would be where he is today if he stuck with his old camp.

GSP is an awesome fighter and he deserves everything he's earned thus far. The wins over Hughes were some of my favorites of all time, because I thought it was about time. Much like Liddell, if you continue with the same fight plan and not evolve your strategy and technique in the course of your career, eventually someone younger and more technique-driven will defeat you. I don't see Liddell fighting Silva, because it will a guaranteed loss. I've been following Silva since Pride and Cage Rage, and he is my favorite fighter of all because he's pure technique combined with striking power.

Machida is also good because he's driven by technique like Silva. He's problem though is that he won't initiate fights enough and eventually that will cost him with one good solid punch.

Another really good fighter, and one which I always enjoy watching, is Roger Huerta. I like him not only because he's one of the few good Latinos fighting in MMA (gotta represent!), but he's also all technique with a powerful strike.

We should just rename this "Official MMA Thread" if there isn't already one. Pre-Florian fight, I thought Huerta had a lot of promise to be the next LW champ. After hearing his, "I am never going to lose" quote, I just rolled my eyes. His performance against Florian was pretty disappointing, granted Florian backed up for the majority of it. Huerta has a lot to improve if he wants to be considered an elite LW. I just want someone to knock off Penn. One title defense and he thinks he can call out GSP? What a joke.

The UFC hyped up Huerta so much as they do alot of fighters.

Huerta would get demolished by BJ penn.

You want to talk about good strikers who hit like a mule and solid chin in the LW division?

Takanori Gomi, that guy arguably has the best chin in the LW division and he hits like a mofo.

Gomi vs Huerta would end up with Huerta ktfo.

Too bad Gomi isn't in the ufc.

One of my dream matchups is Urijah Faber vs Kid Yamamoto. That would be a war.

Now that we're talking about MMA, I really hope Shogun shows up in his next fight healthy and ready. I do think he might not be the same again as tearing your ACL is a bad injury, even psychologically alot of athletes are never the same.

Wanderlei vs rampage 3, hope wanderlei knocks him out again.

oh and Fedor is the best ever

MOD NOTE:

Merged thread.

^^Lesnar! Are you kidding!
I'm waiting to see a real good fight with him in it.

Yes, pre-Florian, he was great; but I still like to watch Huerta fight.

I really want to see more Takanori Gomi fights, that's for sure. Great battles stepping in the ring with him.

Faber's last fight was pretty intense and one a showdown with Yamamoto would be badass!

So, who else is disappointed with Houston Alexander's performance last night? Shafer is a good ground fighter and all, but I was expecting a bit more out of Alexander.

The Guida-Danzig fight was okay, but Guida was obviously in control the whole time. The Belcher-Herman was actually really entertaining and possibly the best fight of the night. As for the main event, Neer should be the better fighter, but it didn't seem he was aggressive enough.

Default Kimbo - R.I.P

Kimbo Slice - YouTube 'legend'

Destroyed in 14 seconds by some no-name last minute replacement whom was outweighed, certainly out-hyped, out-reached and out-powered.

Beautiful...

Let the excuses begin!
