    Default Dispicable Dairy Queen Commercial

ok I am the last person to be offended by things but this Dairy Queen commerical is unbelievable. Discusting !

    Watch and discuss.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZFUVZqeCa4&eurl

This is a quote from a website condeming the ad.

The Diary Queen Corporation has just started a new television ad which encourages adults to see young children as sexually seductive. In this commercial, a young girl (about age 8) decides to intentionally flirt with, and seduce a young boy (about the same age) into buying her a sundae (in the same manner that a man would buy a drink for a romantic interest at a singles bar.) Once the little girl has won the sundae (compliments of the smitten boy) via making "goo goo" eyes at him, she then turns to her mother and says, precociously, "It's just like shooting fish in a barrel." In this commercial Dairy Queen cynically seeks to exploit and sexualize young children, in order to sell ice cream.

Dairy Queen seems to have no awareness, or no concern, that our society increasingly sexualizes young children. One only need consider children's increasing preference for seductive dress, the increasing incidence of pre-teenage anorexia, and body distortion problems, and events like the Joan Benet-Ramsey case to get a sense that our children's innocence is under attack. Sexualizing children not only puts unhealthy pressure on them and compromises the quality and joy of their childhood, but it also arouses the pruriant interest of pedophiles. Such messages suggest that "permission" is given, and that children welcome sexual encounters.

....i think the disney underwear ads in china are FAR more pedopheliacy (new word for the day meaning: to be like a pedophile) than the dairy queen commercial.

it is encouraging and propagating the belief that women can just use men for money and for a free ride. i do agree, though, that Jon (NOT JOAN) Benet Ramsey's death was directly linked to the path her parents put her on, with the child modeling/pageanting shit.

that site (the one quoted) of OUTRAGED individuals can do is spell the name of the person they're trying to use to prove a point.

Write them a letter or call the FCC.

I actually did that once to complain about something and they said I quote "what do you want us to do about it?" I was like, what the hell?

About all you can really do is just never buy anything from there and encourage others to do the same.

    I dunno.Seemed pretty harmless.Sitting in a dairy queen isn't exactly sexy .
Not at all like those pics they took of Miley Cyrus for that magazine shoot though with her looking like a 15 yr old hooker.
    Now that was bad.
What did you think of the Airplane movie scene with the little girl saying "i like my coffee black....like my men"?I thought it was funny.

well It would seem that I am in the minority on this one. Like I said I am not the prude that gets upset by this type of stuff but this just struck me the wrong way. The kid is like 7 years old and she is using her sexuality to get free food from a guy in a "donkey" shirt aka jackass. It just bothers me that our 7 year olds are learning to shake their asses for free shit.

I think you are just reading wayyyyy to much into this. Now if she dressed up like a slut and was giving the boy a lap dance, it would be a different story.

It would've been funnier if her mother had high fived her and said "that's my girl!"

Also Dairy Queen burgers and fries suck horribly. You have to pay for toppings.I'm surprised they're still in business.

I really don't know how to reply back to this post....

I thought about it for about 5 minutes. I still can't figure out a way that one would justify slapping a little girl and calling her a little whore.
I think I'm in love with my radio.... Because it never lets me down.

I think some people need to get a life. This subject is just about as ridiculous as Florida passing a law to ban the "truck nuts." People in this country waste more time trying to police everyone else and decide what they can do or what they can watch instead of worrying things that are actually important. If you don't like DQs commercials, hurt them where they'll feel it...their bank account...don't buy products.

I agree with the original poster to an extent.

I do not believe it was necessarily the creators intention...it could be viewed as a satire on how retarted it is for guys to buy girls drinks...I don't know exactly.

but I do see the sexualization of the youth...

but really, I think music videos are worse...

I recently found myself bored out of my skull and half asleep watch Much Music countdown...and almost all the music vids are sooooo sexual in nature.

even lyrics too, the two that stand out to me right now would be the new Usher Track (love in the club or some shit) and the Mariah Carey one...with the computer nerd...
basically, for the Mariah Carey, I felt like i should've had some lube ready...

and the market of a show like this, is the youth.

I mean, it's one thing for an artist to expound the beauty and value and meaning of love...but I think today, everything is just about appealing to the libido instead.

furthermore, I was reading an areuvedic medicine book.. it doesn't say not to have sex, or not to smoke...just the proper' way to do things.
and sex before physical maturity, (18 or so) creates hormonal changes that negatively affect the health of a growing being. in my personal experience, I remember when I first started plowing my gf when I was 16 she was 15... her period became irregular and she later developed a thyroid problem... I don't know how linked it truly is.

but I believe it is a form of control to hinder the population.

get people sick, they have to keep buying medicine and treatment, and they can't kill themselves because euthanasia is illegal.

I know, paranoid thinking...but that don't mean they're not after us.
