Puts new light on his driving off a cliff 2 years ago. Well, old light, but can be considered confirmed suspicions.

He was one of the NFL players I idolized as a kid. I didn't know many players by name if they weren't on the 49ers, but I did know him. Thought he was awesome.

Possibly, although as someone who has fallen asleep twice at the wheel on major highways and flipped two different cars, I can see his cliff-jumping excuse as a pretty damned valid one.

Side note - stay the fuck off of 95 late at night if you ever hear about me going on a driving vacation.

He killed himself the same way Dave Duerson did. I'm guessing it was due to concussions.

Yeah..I felt the same way. One of the best defesive guys to play the game. I also liked (back in the day) Lyle Alzado, Dexter Manley, Charles Mann, Tim Krumrie, and Greg Loydd. RIP JS...you were awesome to watch.

yep. that said, DUERSON did it intentionally to the chest so as to not harm his brain, so WWE RASSLER Chris Nowinski (seriously) could help research it. i highly doubt Seau's attempt at becoming a see-through man was done for the same reason.

and yes that was insensitive. that said, dude had 4 kids, so i mean, what the fuck. i think depriving the kids of their dad is the worst part in this, not his loss of life.

I agree 100%. I think suicide is one of the most selfish acts a person can do. They dont think about the hardship and effect their act has on the people who love them.

I've heard a lot of talk, though not sure how much weight it holds, linking depression to brain trauma suffered by these guys in the NFL. I'm wondering if this is something that was a direct result of his NFL career.

Yeah..I saw a piece on this on CNN this morning. Does make you wonder.

Saw Junior's mother give a statement.....felt bad for her. You can tell she had no idea and you can see the shock and hurt all over her face. Heart goes out to her and Junior's family. Just a shock.
