Default King Kong (2005) - HDD Review

Peter Jackson's epic retelling of King Kong is now on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with HDR10 and DTS:X, but the results are a bit mixed. Check out E's review!

Is the low end any heftier than on the bluray for the DTS:X track?

The low-end was about the same, as far as I could tell, but I'll double check later.

Such a shame. I still own this on HD-DVD and was hoping for a big upgrade. I watched this the other day on HD-DVD and a Sony VPL 320ES 4k projector and it looked fantastic and thinking tbh, won't bother, but great review as usual.

Interestingly, the bass in the DTS:X track is about a decibel or two lower than the DTS-HD version, which is not much of a difference. Overall, both tracks are about even in the low-end.

That's a bit of a bummer, I was hoping it would dig a little bit deeper but at least it sounds like it's not too noticeable. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to check.

This doesn't line up with the other 4k reviews I've read?
