I can't wait for a reputable source (hint hint) to do a 3 way show down on these players.

Looks like a couple of people have managed to buy this from a BBY Magnolia store. It's on the website but not in stock around here.

It's in stock at the Panasonic store, free shipping but there is sales tax added. They take Paypal.

Hope it's ok to post this and I'd love to help anyone with any questions or technical advice with the high-end 4K BD player. We received our allocation last week.

Just a heads-up on a 5 day sale, save $100 on Panasonic's 4K BD player, DMP-UB900. So the all in price is $599

Now that they price has gone back up at Best Buy I've noticed a local store has them in stock. Just one store. And it's not even a Magnolia store. I should probably go over tomorrow and take a look at it. Never seen one.

On pages 34, 36, and 37 of the April/May 2017 Widescreen Review magazine is an excellent professional review on the Panasonic DMP-UB900. One of the reasons why the Panasonic is one of the most expensive Blu-ray players is because of its build quality and high quality video and audio performance. Its one of the best Blu-ray players on the market as long as one does not need legacy audiophile optical disc playback support like DVD-AUDIO and SACD’s which cannot be played on the DMP-UB900.

Select quote from the Widescreen magazine review:

“Music played in PCM mode over HDMI sounded a little better overall on the Panasonic and OPPO machines than the Samsung player. Via the analog stereo outputs, the differences were a little more obvious, with the Panasonic sounding a little different than the OPPO, and both of them sounding noticeably better than the Samsung.”
