    I just don't get it.
With the US dollar tanking, the effort and expense is just stupid imo.
and don't even get me started on how Futureshop and play.com won't even ship to the US.....
It's all just a big joke.
For the people that still play the game enjoy.
I'd rather spend $$ on bfi titles and other imports rather than get ripped off trying to play play the steelbook shuffle.
I think the issue is that steelbooks have been a European phenomenon for years now. I can remember buying DVDs in steelbook editions some years ago. Whether the studios deem the US market as ready for steelbook releases remains a question. Hopefully the Futureshop Canadian releases will trail blaze the path for US steelbook releases of some regularity...
Price wise, you can still get good deals on steelbooks. I recently bagged 2 new and sealed steels of Sweeney Todd (now OOP) for only £5 each from my local ASDA (Walmart) bargain bin.

In the meantime, DO grab a Star Trek steelbook...

Despite the fact its an OOP steelbook, you tend to get the odd copies of Sweeney Todd show up like that in the bricks and mortar stores, and yes for very low prices. Guess they don't pay much attention to what these things can fetch on the Net...

After the price hike to £22.99, Play.com drop this back down to £17.99.
What the hell are they playing at?
