Default Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon UK BD steelbook July 6th

Well here is a UK exclusive steelbook that will be a Day One purchase for yours truly. Simply one of the finest films to ever come out of the Martial Arts genre, and as such will be a great addition to anyone's steelbook collection. Amazon and HMV are not advertising this as a steelbook, so maybe it is exclusive to Play.com?

And it's £11 if you buy any more in the 2 for £22 offer (which I did with 5 discs for £55 oddly).

Yes I have taken advantage of this deal myself. I am buying one for someone in the US in addition to my own.
The good news though is that this BD steelbook is looking as though it is Region free.

Nice, I hope this isn't exclusive to Play.com since their packaging sucks and I just hate dents in my steelbooks!

Well, Amazon originally had the picture of a Steelbook on their listing, but last week they changed it to a plastic case. So it doesn't look like Amazon will be offering a Steelbook. HMV is still showing the plastic case too.

I ordered mine from BlahDVD. I don't really care if it's steelbook or not, just the movie in high-def will be good enough

It seems to come out in Japan too as a Sony release on 24th of July.

    Yeah, agreed

Anyway, I got the UK version on the way as it was already shipped by BlahDVD today from Switzerland Should hopefully receive it around Monday. Don't know if it's a steelbook or not but I'll see it when I get it.

I've actually seen pictures of the back of the play.com steelbook that lists version ABC. I would imagine that all UK discs should be the same - but we don't know ATM if the version of amazon.co.uk is a steelbook.

I've read on another forum that a member in the UK came across this steelbook in store at a HMV. They wanted 24.99 for it.

Here's one below. So I'd say the steelbook is confirmed, ABC.

I guess nobody got theirs from Amazon UK yet as the release date is on Monday and they probably just started shipping out today.

It would be very unusual if Sony locked this in Europe though as it's a catalog release and being released in various other markets around the same time as well and since the steelbook already appears to be region free...
