One thing they do now, I noticed, is they have these platform wars, like "Xbox is better than Playstation." That's nerdy to me. What the fuck is the matter with you?

I have the German HD DVD Steelbook for T2, the German Blu-ray Steelbook for T3, and the Futureshop Steelbook for Salvation. I would love to complete the series in steel, but I'm not loving that artwork, and the fact that it's certain to be the same crappy old disc also puts me off.

Also, Play doesn't ship to the US.

Maybe the Terminator was also the cameraman and was filming himself in a mirror.

Looks as though this DOES have a new master, this from Hi-Def Ninja:
FYI - This steelbook DOES have the new MASTER for Terminator 1 blu-ray.

If this is the new remaster carried out by Lowry, I will definitely be buying it. I just want to wait and see what the reviews are like first. Some of the scenes in the original Terminator look really bad, I just want to know how much of an improvement a remaster/restoration has made. I may wait until the price drops a quite a bit if the review isnt that good.

You are in a Catch 22 situation there. These Play.com exclusive steelbooks do tend to sell out by the release date if demand is strong and with the news of the remaster - interest is considerable now in this disc.
Frankly you would be better off ordering this now and then cancelling at the last minute if the reviews do not do like the new transfer....
Otherwise go with the Amaray case on release date or thereabouts.

I will be leaving the country in a couple of weeks until Christmas. I wont have access to a Blu-Ray player anyway, I will just hold off until the new year.

Apart from yourself, do you think if I was to pick up a number of these steelbooks - there would be interest on here for getting some sent out to the US?

Maybe start a sign up list to gauge interest? I believe that's how others used to do it. If nothing else you could probably sell them on ebay.
