That's what Walmart does. While I can't speak for every store, the Walmarts I have worked at have cheap and weak shelving. The slots normally get grime build up within a couple of days, so in order to get a disc on the shelf rack they pretty much shove it right in there. Walmart also doesn't believe in proper inventory control, so lets say the shelf cap is 10 (meaning 10 copies can fit per slot), and the associate has 11 copies to put up - laziness will take over and the associate will try their damndest to get that 11th copy to fit.
Can't tell you how many times I've seen torn up slipcovers, dents in steelbooks, and ripped shrink wrap on the shelves. Carelessness dominates the store, and the managers normally don't give a shit as long as you can fit that 11th copy in the shelf slot.PSN: blazsox

While it was tempting to get them all I decided to just get RE Degeneration since I had the others already on HD DVD.I sure hope Wally World decides to keep doing Steels because being able to get them right here in town and pick out my own clean copy kicks ass! And at $15 I can afford a lot more of them.

I could not manage to find 3 sufficiently mint copies. One each of 1-3. I bought the set and then returned it. I exchanged again. I exchanged a 3rd time. Finally I gave up and politely but forcefully insisted that the assistant store manager make an exception and give me a GC instead of another exchange.
Some of the damage was very minor and hard to see and I was unable to see it until I got home and got it unwrapped and was unable to really take a very a close look. A few times I totally missed small dings and dents I should have seen. Regardless, I could not manage to find one copy of each that was obviously and clearly MINT. This was an VERY frustrating misadventure for me. -

I bought the trilogy tonight after a random trip to walmart. They had a few copies of each so it took me a few minutes to go through them all and find good conditioned ones. They were out of Degeneration though.
Does anyone know how long they'll keep them in stock or will they be a semi-permanent there? I'd like to get the Degeneration and Afterlife when that gets released.Samsung 40" 1080p
