Hey Dave - I think you might be surprised - I think the disc packaged with the German steelbook is the exactly the same as the one sent to folks in the UK.

The disc in my steelbook has the German ratings logo, as well as the Dutch and UK ones.

Dunno for sure, but I think it's the same disc.

    Andy,

I have no doubt that it is the same disc. When I first reviewed the SPR on another thread here, I noticed and mentioned the fact that the disc was covered in all European certificates which pretty much confirms that it is a uniform disc across all European territories.
What intrigues me though is will the steelbook have the reissued disc that was made available to correct the sync issues that some have definitely been encountering on their s, or will it still be the first issue disc?

    Onkyo DV-HD805, Toshiba XE1
    Receiver - Pioneer SC-LX90/SC-09TX Susano
    Sub - B&W ASW750
    Surround - 3 x B&W DM-601 S3

The rumor that I heard was Amazon.de swapped out the discs from the UK, but if they have the same ratings logos and etc, maybe even the same discs, then it shouldn't have mattered? Right? They are supposed to be the reissued disc(s).

It was only a weeks delay, which is quite the quick turnaround to swap out every copy.

What I can confirm, however, is that these steelbooks do seem to be repackaged / shrinkwrapped. They placed a ratings logo sticker on the steelbook and it's definitely a reshrink job with the shrink wrap.

I'm not sure what these steelbooks had before (if it was something like the Sherlock Holmes steelbook slipcover), but I'm fairly certain that retailers are not allowed to use FSK stickers as the primary logo - they need to be printed on something, since April of this year. Seems like amazon.de and Media Markt threw out that original packing, whatever it was.

Damn Andy! I should have just stuck with my order from the GB. Here I thought I would get it faster by ordering it myself It is going to suck if this doesn't come today so I can watch it over Memorial Day weekend.

    Yeah, that sucks.

I got lucky since they just passed my order on through - it spent virtually minutes in US customs. It usually disappears in there for days.

Got my order yesterday! Two browns and a green. Opened up the green as my personal copy and it has a noticeable dent in the front upper left corner. The spine is also bent up right around that same area. My father-in-law screens SPR Memorial Day weekend so we are going to watch it tonight. I am glad they got here in for the Memorial Day screening but mad that my last two steelbook orders have been damaged!

Need to go over my two remaining sealed copies with a fine tooth comb. Going to take some pics of the damage with my 14mp camera and submit shipping feedback to Amazon.de. I want to do that and see what they do as far as contacting me. See how responsive they are to that feedback versus me contacting them more specifically and directly bitching and moaning.

    That sucks!

Be careful, not sure how many returns / exchanges that you've done with amazon.de, but when you've done enough, you make the "list" where they require you to ship the steelbook back at your own expense to get a refund.

If you get a lot of damaged steelbooks, it gets costly after a while.

Its my first return to them. Approximately how many until you get on tthe list? I'm not much for foreign steelbooks I have recently decided.

Depends on the size of the purchase - but if you're only doing a few...probably 2-3 orders.
