BD sales still craptastic, even after HD DVD's death

I already mentioned it back in March, but Blu-ray fanboys won't believe me when I said sales of Blu-ray players tanked from January to February.

ps3 up 100%, upconverters up 5%.

...and a 39 percent decline in players that don’t have that feature.

hmm, same as blu-ray players (except, of course, the ps3). so, are people saying "dvd's good enough" or is it the economy / time of year?

i'm not putting a lot of weight on these stats. i don't think the bda is too worried.

How many BD Standalones sold in 2007 about 250k?

We know how many sold for the first 3 weeks of 2008:
W1: 15,257
W2: 21,770
W3: 16,496

So at least 53,523 BD players sold in January.

118,393 BD players at least were sold in Q1 2008 and was probably actually closer to 150k. This is a huge improvement over last year.

Of course not. Blu-ray is a different product. As such, it's reasonable to expect that after the format war, it should exhibit trends that defy common sense and buck normal sales trends by ridiculous amounts. Obviously, if it's not doing this, it's failing.

This post is complete bullshit. And what HD format are you buying newly released titles from? HD DVD? For how long? June? There is only one surviving HD format for now and the future. Whats with the sour grapes attitude?

Since we're not seeing such a decline in other CE sectors, and we're five months into the year...
