Default Amazon's HD-DVD sale...not goign that well?

Hey just a thouught, a lot HD-DVD sales on Amazon, obviously trying to unload stock...but how long have we seen $8.95- $13.95 titles been on sale.....but still being listed? you would think that if "Lucky Number Slevin" has ben in the top 20 high def sellers on amazon for a couple of weeks at $8.95, shouldn't Amazon begin running out by now?

In fact I don't think I can see a single HD-DVD title that s no longer listed on Amazon

I can't image those were ever going to be big sellers and I doubt Amazon did either.

Well about a week ago, I had my cart full of movies and I was going to place the order when I got home that night. To my suprise, when I got home ALL the movie prices had gone up $2-3 a piece. I'm waiting for the prices to drop again before I place my order. As a matter of fact, most of those movies I ordered off of deepdiscount.com .

Since we dont know the stock Amazon had to begin with, it would be hard to estimate when they should run out. Without knowing what the stock is really pointless to even try to think of when they will run out.

Why would anyone try to estimate when they wil run out? They will run out at some point. It doesn't really matter when it happens.

perhaps, but there is one unmitigated factor in this, people know that Josh Hartnett is a bad actor.

let me make this clear, he is a god aweful actor.

It's not like Amazon has constantly had those $8.95 Weinstein titles in stock recently. They've been in and out of stock, they are selling what they have and ordering more from suppliers. I've been trying to get a few of them and it's not like they would have been able to ship very quickly. I finally managed to get 3 of them shipped from there the other day.

I ordered Derailed, Matador and Clerks II from dvd pacific because they showed as in stock but only Matador and Clerks II were filled - Derailed went to 'on order.' I cancelled that item there and ordered Derailed from deepdiscount.

I saw Lucky Number Slevin as a rental and liked it a lot.

I like it too but have it on Blu-ray instead.

I have cancelled The Matador three times as it has held up other orders. It shows in stock but never is. The deals are also available at deepdiscount with free shipping. I think they are having trouble with stock on the titles.

Any chance you could respin your anti HD DVD post while accounting for the fact that Amazon *restocks* movies?

Seriously, there's no format war, HD DVD is dead... what is the point of this sort of poo pooing? If there's a desire to kick HD DVD some more, maybe something not based on a flawed premise would be better??

I managed to get Lucky Number Slevin, Cleks II and Wolf Creek shipped from Amazon and I shifted my order of Pulse and School for Scoundrels to DVD Pacific yesterday as they indicated "Low Stock" rather than "Order". They haven't shipped anything yet though.

I have "Derailed" on order from Amazon and now they indicate "Shipping soon" for that one, yay!

It seems these titles take some work to acquire at these current low prices...

I just wonder how long Amazon will keep the stock of HD DVD. It's almost sure that it will be this summer this some time. But if they do stop it earlier, what about announce releases - likely cancel.

3 months from now - buy them on eBay if so desired.
