Default Why aren't blu-ray sales going up?

It's still about 30/70 hd vs blu-ray.

You would think that would be changing, right? All those people buying PS3's because 'the war is over'.

Yet blu-ray is not gaining ground over hd-dvd since Toshiba 'surrendered'.

This surprises me. I keep waiting to see a 20/80 week, but we never do.

Is high def really a 'niche' market? I wonder.

with HD DVD movies selling for less then $10 it kinda makes that hard, but I'm sure that Blu-ray are selling more discs, problem is so is HD DVD with stores trying to sell off thier stock...

Lmao I love how these last few fanboys are trying to take shots before the dust settles.

I'd honestly be very personally embarrassed to be an hd-dvd/toshiba defender at this point.

As for an answer, why do you expect things to change over night? Its been a short matter of weeks. Give it a couple months and evaluate the market at a time that isn't still on the heels of the year's biggest spending period.

once they stop dumping movies in the river at under 10$ apiece, the ratio's will change.

it's way too early to determine what kind of market high def is.

Nice try there...yet again. I am just wondering though...why is the US Auto-Industry steadily dwindling and dwindling when they keep slashing prices and extending manufacturers' warranties?

Back on topic now...when all major studios begin releasing on BR and the market is cleared of HDDVD product then I assume that more and more people will be clear about where HDM is heading.

Because gasoline gets more and more expensive so that even the US people don't want the gas sucking pick ups and muscle cars anymore.

Me. I don't see any reason to purchase a HD DVD that's available on Blu-ray (with more extras). It's a dead format...why continue to invest in it?

BTW: It'll be $27.99 at Best Buy on Tuesday, plus I have $5 reward zone coupon, so that's $22.99 before taxes. HA!

Is it a "niche" market because you chose the wrong format?

7$-10$ hd dvd movies are being clearanced right now. These are being bought up by all the hd dvd supporters because they know that when they're gone, they're gone. No more. The end.

And it's still 70/30 favored for bluray.

See, you can spin it any way you want to. Point is: There is no more hd dvd. It's gone. Go upconvert something or buy a bluray player.
