But when it's the only new release on HD-DVD what do you expect. The if the 1 mill HD-DVD owner want something new the choice is limited when the Blu-ray crowd has a more diverse choice.

He's talking about expensive Blu-ray discs, but fails to notice that the top-ranked Blu-ray is a dollar cheaper than the top-ranked HD DVD...

But who cares about facts...

Replace "consumer" with "desperate HD DVD fanboys" and you'll be spot on there.

Most people have moved on from HD DVD, it's only people desperate for as many HD DVD titles as possible before they are gone forever, who are buying into the fire sales going on now.

hd dvd

Many HD DVD titles are $5 in the fire sale, of course users are going to buy them, because everyone knows, once they are gone, they are gone..

Anyone that was holding out to buy any partcular HD DVD release would be silly to wait.

Expect the fire sale rush to settle down in a week or 2.

Just shows you that with all the sales going on, why switch over to BD and wait for them to be release on said format when you can get em for cheap?
Why wait and pay $20+ when you can get them and enjoy them now for damn near half that price.

So, you wouldnt take advantage of these sales if the shoe were on the other foot?

Translation: My format lost and I'm going to desperately cling to anything I can to try and show that it's the consumer's choice even when the sales numbers for all of 2007 say otherwise.

Yep, HD-DVD, the look and sound of commercial failure. As if To$hiba cared anymore about the consumer than $ony. To$hiba should have learned from the Divx debacle if nothing else. They had their own pocketbooks at heart, not the consumer...

HD-DVD, the look and sound of greed.
