Default Accurate Total Sales of HD DVD players (Euro, US, pc drive, and 360 drives)

Not sure if this was posted yet but i got this from Ign.com

Quote:
At the press conference, Atsutoshi Nishida also revealed total HD-DVD hardware sales worldwide, facts previously made opaque in officially announcements. A grand total of 1.3-million HD-DVD players sold worldwide breaks down to 300k Xbox 360 drives, 300k PC drives, 600k dedicated US players, 100k dedicated Euro players, and 30,000 dedicated Japanese players. Against the more than 10-million Blu-ray players in circulation, HD-DVD was indeed fighting an uphill battle in the format war. Nishida also commented that Toshiba has "no plan at all this moment" to begin supporting Blu-ray.

Interesting to see this because it is now revealed what Toshiba has been using to say thay had the SA lead in the US. Does anyone know Blu-ray's Sa sales totals?

How many different versions of these numbers are we going to get? Engadget which was live from the press conference said 700,000 yesteday. Then someone said that was a mistake, it should be 1,000,000. Now it's 1,300,000? If we keep going up like this HD DVD will be back in business soon.

I would definitely like to see the Blu-ray player numbers broken down like this so far. I'm sure PS3's account for MOST of the sales numbers... but why shouldn't they? It's the best Blu-ray player on the market right now.

For HD DVD I would count everything but the PC Drives. That brings us to 1,030,000 devices purchased with the sole intent of watching HD DVD movies on a (most likely) high def television.

With 10 million PS3's out in the world, I'm sure MANY of them were for Blu-ray, but how many were for NON-HDTVs? Of the 3 people I know personally who own a PS3 (including myself), all of them have an HDTV and in turn watch Blu-ray movies with it. In fact, only one of us bought it primarily for games.

In short, I'd like to know how many Blu-ray stand alone players there are to date... and I'd like to see a fairly reputable study estimating how many PS3s are used to watch Blu-ray.
