Default The Toshiba HD-A3 would make a great Valentine's Day gift...

according to Yahoo Shopping. Nice spot for the HD DVD player and these play all HD DVD's. This is priced right for an impulse pick-up for the one you love.

No, I'm serious. As most on this forum like to point out, I'm not exactly your typical girl, but even I would find it strange/slightly disappointing if my boyfriend got me an HD DVD player for, of all days, Valentine's Day (or any movie player for that matter). That's not to say I wouldn't be grateful. But come on...

I'm hardly a format zealot since I just convinced my brother to buy me Zodiac on HD DVD for my birthday later this month.

If you did that, you would be dumped within a year when she find out she can no longer buy any movies for it.

Exactly. I'd definitely be questioning my bf's motives if I were any other girl.

With a card that states "Hopefully our love will last longer than this format?"

That was funny but the fact remains the players are still selling and being advertised at various sites. Great pricepoint and hundreds of films available. Over two-hundred exclusives accessible for under $150.

You will love Zodiac in HD. The movie is great and the PQ and AQ are outstanding.

The last thing any girl wants to hear about your gift is that it was on sale or how cheap it was!
They want to know you dropped a lot of cash on ‘em. Go for the Pioneer Elite or some other $1k BD player.
