Default Nielson WE 2/3 Shows HD DVD Improving In Sales

Blu folk will only see Blu Ray 74% dominating HD DVD 26%. But if you look back at previous week WE 1/27 with Blu at 82% and HD DVD at 18%, clearly theres a difference. 8% difference actually. Same goes for Previous Week...

1/13/08:
Blu = 85%
HDD = 15%

1/27/08:
Blu = 82%
HDD = 18%

2/3/08:
Blu = 74%
HDD = 26%

I see a trend emerging. Everyone sees what they want to I guess...

Here is what should scare Blu Fans.

The totals are so ridiculously low its insane.

Its almost like people have stopped buying HDM after Christmas entirely.

IF HD DVD can get 26% with no new releases, except a handful of Invasions that slipped out, Imagine what they will accomplish with American Gangster, and a Full On BOGO Free sale, on the same week.

Heck, HD DVD can actually win a week, something they never did last year.

I see a trend...a trend we've become all too familiar with.

Have a BOGO, and you can buoy sales.

I also see another trend...more and more people getting 3 day bans for posting sales threads in the main smackdown area.

I'd be shocked, if not for the fact that this happens every fucking year on every damn product known to man. Instead, we can realize that Blu-ray sales are more than 3 times what they were a year ago, and also realize that you do not have realistic expectations and a serious red bias that taints your ability to properly analyze these numbers. Cause if you were analyzing these numbers intelligently...you wouldn't have made your post.

The sales are recovering a little from the Post Warner shock with dirt cheap standalones but HD-DVDs are still getting outsold 3:1 with $15 movies vs blu-ray's $20+ movies.

For next week I predict 70:30, if not better.

I see a trend of people posting sales data in the wrong forum!

Simple. You look at past 3 weeks. And you see a trend. A trend thats favoring HD DVDs improvement, in an era when Blu boys are screaming HD DVD is dead, and when WB dropped HD DVD support.

This should be in the Sales and Data thread and there's already a thread in there showing the sales this week.

I wish the mods would get on top of this and put the 3 day ban into effect for posting sales in this section of the smackdown forum.

It's OK though, he's spinning it into a positive for HD DVD so he won't get a ban. Now if he was going the other way with it he'd be in trouble.

Can you explain the downward spiral for units sold in the same time period?

Week BD HD DVD
01/06 301 162
01/13 322 57<--sales fell
01/20 200 41<--sales fell
01/27 177 39<--sales fell

Sales are in thousands.

MOD NOTE: Thread closed. Please discuss this in the thread that's already in the sales data forum.

SIDE NOTE: For those complaining about mods, be prepared to receive infractions. This is a warning to ALL OF YOU. You do realize that we all have a lot to do right? That this isn't our jobs. So if something doesn't get handled right away, think about that before you shoot your mouth off about it.
