Default Blu Ray Winning 80:20 Soon To Be A Thing of the Past?

Lets face it, the last month of releases for HD DVD have been pitiful.

When your best new day and date release is Elizabeth : The Golden Age that tanked in the box office, you know your going to get beat soundly.

And HD DVD has been beat soundly the past few weeks.

But I believe that starting Tuesday Feb. 19, HD DVD will solidly build its ratio back up to 70:30 or 65:35, or who knows, maybe even 60:40.

Starting with the release of American Gangster, then followed by Beowulf, The Bee Movie, Charlie Wilson's War, I Am Legend, Sweeney Todd, There Will be Blood, etc.

I believe that with these releases, in March and April, and the further we get from the Warner Announcement, the sales numbers will continue to grow.

I believe that the numbers coming out tomorrow, will be the 4th week in a row of growth since the WB announcement, and the sales will continue to swell.

If we can just get some true BOGO sales to go along with some of these releases, I think the numbers will really surprise some people.

You may(or may not) be correct, but as soon as the what Warner announced actually takes place in May, you can expect that 80:20 ratio to maintain once again, and even start to grow even larger.

Why would anyone buy I am Legend on HD-DVD, at least if they are purple or Blu-ray... it has more content.

I'm neutral but slightly biased towards red and will tell you that as time passes, as more PS3s get sold, as slightly more Blu SA get sold... that ratio will eventually come back to 80:20 or worse after HD DVD's big hits are released.

Yeah, Sweeny Todd is going to pull HD-DeaD's ass out of the pits. Bourne and Transformers couldn't win a week for you. Then all we heard about was Zodiac.

One thing for the Rediots, they are funny, even if the joke is getting old.

BB is having an HD DVD BOGO, and Amazon is having a 50%+ off Universal titles sale as we speak. I even think BOTH were going last week. I could be wrong though.

"You just wait and see..." The look and sound of HD-DVD.

Besides... with ratios like 75:25 for Blu-Ray... how can anyone say that HD-DVD is winning?

But at that point in time, you're right back to missing out on the biggest hi-def studio in the world, so you're screwed again. But hey, you'll have Paramount, the studio that's released the smallest number of hi-def.

Not to mention there's a ton of as-yet-finalized product coming from the BD studios that would blow away the above Para/Uni releases.

just for shits n giggles...

PS3 owners are used to waiting... as in wait for the console to launch since it was delayed, wait until next gen starts, wait for those big games, wait for rumble to arrive... you get my point

maybe it was expected from reds that Blus all are accustomed now to wait

but the difference is that the waiting for the HD DVD boys is an excuse why they are getting their asses kicked in sales so they think waiting will change something.

blu ray supporters don't have to make excuses because they winning handily in hardware and software sales...but you are too blinded by fanboyism to see the difference...

Gotta go there. Well 360 owners have to wait for their replacement boxes.

60:40 would still an ass whooping and mean the gap between blu-ray and hd dvd is still growing

I don't see HD DVD picking up ground. They just can't do it. You can lean red all you want but BD sales are only going up and HD DVD can't catch up.
