The stock is running out. Unless they get more stock in, don't expect a big sale. If anything, the price of HD DVD may go up as inventory becomes more scarce. It is basic supply and demand...

Yeah, look at player prices - I bought my A35 player new from Amazon in late October for around $400. In mid February it went down as low as $239, if I recall correctly. The price today: from $419 to $699, new, even $285 for a used one.

HD DVD prices are only going up as supply dwindles. Snap up what you can now at decent prices. I have - I've bought around 30 HD DVD titles in the past month, including over a dozen imports. Snoop around the Bargains and Trading forums - as much as I've bought from Amazon, they aren't the only game in down. Deep Discount has Weinstein titles for under $9; although pretty well cleaned out now, I got HD DVDs from EzyDVD Australia for $8 or less, European releases that were over $40 for 10 Euros ($16).

Yeah, I am scooping up all the HD DVD deals I can find at the moment - within a few months they will probably all be gone! I think we're going to have to wait until X-mas 08 to see any decent blu-ray deals, as the prices for those are actually higher right now than they were a couple of months ago - so these great HD DVD deals at places like deepdiscount.com will be the last cheap high-def we'll see for some time I think...

Seriously. The only reason I visit Blu-ray.com is for the bargain thread (okay, I do read some of the Insider threads). I have found some great deals there. In the past month or so I have picked up:
Enchanted for $14.xx
Dan In Real Life for $17.xx
Mr Magaroriums for $11.xx
August Rush for $15.xx
I Am Legend $18.xx
I Robot for $19.xx
ID4 for $19.xx

The prices quoted above include shipping (and all titles were brand new). Most of those titles were day and date (minus two) and the two catalog titles were highly anticipated by me and were like $27-34 almost everywhere else.

There also plenty of titles in the $8-12 range (catalog) but I already own many of them or simply do not want them. The deals are out there.
