Why? You still get the manufacturer's warranty. Buy it on certain credit cards and automatically add up to an additional year to the warranty.

What the hell does that mean? Are you 5 years old? The whole "HD DUD" quote is getting REAL old as well as the quote of your screen name. Judging by you postings, all you do is troll and flamebait.

Anyways. The laptop looks like a pretty good deal for someone looking for a portable BD player. The only thing that makes me wary is the recertified. Hmmm.
