well I might just get "Robocop" since it will never be cheaper than this. I have told myself I wouldn't get it, but I need it because it happens to also be a Criterion title, and I have all the hd titles of movies out on Criterion except this one.
I am a big Criterion fan, and for fun I have been collecting any hd media title which also happens to have a Criterion version. There are currently 11 titles total I believe.

The Robocop BD is pretty lame. I'd highly recommend waiting for either the eventual double dip with remastered video and special features or (fingers crossed!) a Blu-Ray Criterion edition

Or perhaps keep an eye open for a used copy. Seriously, I paid $11 for mine (BOGO + Amazon 10% off) and feel a bit ripped off.

Hmm, at around £6.85 (plus around £3.40 shipping) I may pick up The Terminator. A tenner for rainy Sunday afternoon fluff in high-def... Assuming that bluray.liesinc.net is right and it'll play on a Region B player.

The BD is not a good transfer. It is NOT the same as the Criterion.

Here's a review of it:

Works fine on a region B player, assuming it's still distributed by Sony.

The robocop transfer isn't great but it is better than all the previous versions PQ/AQ wise. if you can get it for $20 or less go for it. this movie will NEVER be demo worthy. but it doesn't make it any less than the classic it is.
