Exclamation Circuit City Closeout of HD DVD A3 $99.99

You won't read the word closeout, but to me it's clear that Circuit City is clearing their stock of HD DVD players:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Toshi...oductDetail.do

For HD DVD users who have a stack of HD DVDs, now is the time to pick up a second back-up player at a reduced price.

So far, Walmart has not reduced their price and I have not checked others, but with the Circuit City price drop, others should follow soon.

I read in another post or forum that Toshiba is giving at least some retailers $50 credits on each unit sold so this store now showing it being $50 off the previous price seems to align with that. Looks like $99 will be the new price of the week for the A3.

Yeah, but I read that they won't be honoring the 5 free HD DVD mail in anymore? That true?

BTW, it's $110 at Amazon, free ship, no tax.

guys, this is just a price drop, not a clearance. Toshiba is only doing this because they're already making money on HD DVD and they love consumers.

I guess they can't use these price tags from a few weeks ago. They are for 5 cents too much....

These players are going to be selling for atleast another month or so... I have no interest in buying another HD DVD product, but if I did now is not the time for getting a backup player... They will drop lower than this in the coming weeks...

I don't care how much hard evidence is staring me right in the fucking face, I don't care if I follow someone into a Circuit City, see the tag and watch them buy it for that price, it still won't be real.

It's not true! It's not true! It's not true!

:bangs head against the wall:

What's wrong with you people? Who are you going to believe, me or your lyin' eyes?

:does the FUD dance:

HD DVD will outlive you all!
