Thanks for posting! I just picked up two titles. I’ll probably add two more later in the week.

Sadly, there's not a single film on that list that I would like to purchase. Gone are the days that I'd buy movies I sort of liked, or already had on DVD, just to support a format or a sale. Until the HD DVD Promotion Group, Universal, and Paramount give me a reason to continue to throw full support at the format, I'll only be bouying the must-owns.

With today's $2.7M ad for HD DVD, I say they seem committed behind the format. I grabbed a few movies such as Fearless, Van Helsing and the Grinch.

I just picked up the 3 Fast and furious movies. There are so many great movies on that list. I would have got more but I just bought 5 WB movies 2 days ago on Amazons 53% off. This is great getting all these great HDM movies for $15 what a deal.

This sale is perfect timing with the Super Bowl ad hiting today. BTW the also have 26 WB titles on sale also.

A $2.7M ad just tells me that they like to make money. What speaks louder is the fact that they are not changing a strategy that has failed them since inception. Universal or Paramount haven't really backed up their "support" of the format with a flood of big-name catalog titles and have only given us New Releases that we knew were coming anyway.

There's no evidence to suggest that HD DVD will be around past May 2008.

The criteria you need, may not be a requirement of others. The gems are always reserved for when the market achieves a certain penetration rate. Neither side is getting the landmark films released. I don't think Viacom and NBC need to signify their support by releasing the big classics like Titanic and Gladiator. It would be nice, but those big titles are reserved. Not my decision but one I understand.

What the ad? Yeah it's good, I'm curious to see what they have planned.

No more than any BOGO, arguably. It's essentially the same as a BOGO, except that you can buy odd numbers of discs.

I just looked on circuitcity and they restocked the hd dvd players locally in my area. They sold out durring the $100 price they had.

Also circuitcity online has the universal titles at $19.99 as well.

You said they seem committed to the format. I ask if you thought that was good. I was not asking about the ad. Do you think being committed to HD DVD is good? Good for the HDM market? Why?

Something tells me that you will most likely be able to find most of these titles for much cheaper in the upcoming months.. I will pass...

It is good for HD DVD supporters and that is a large portion of the HDM market.
