Oops. Like like they made a mistake. The A3 is not 1080p as they advertised...

Good eye! They probably meant to put it with the TV specs but still need to correct it to prevent confusion.

What's with the four in the box? Is that new or just a Tiger Direct thing?

I am dying to know how many HDDVD movies can Toshiba PHYSICALLY shove in one box? Is there a room for 6 more? Why can't then give 10 FREE HDDVDs in the box, and 5 more via mail?

Of course I am just being silly here...

I'm sure they can fit at least 5 movies in the box. That's how many Blu-Ray movies Panasonic was able to fit in their player box last year

You don't remember the Panasonic with the 5 free movies in the box? It was their second gen player I think, which was of course just the first gen with some updates I think. BD-10K or something similar to that. Maybe someone with better memory can jump in.

How does Toshiba pay for these free movies? There is no possible way with their desperate price slashings that they are making money on HD DVD.

I know, it would be great if they took Sony's approach and gave away 5 free Blu-ray movies in addition to the five free by rebate (current Wal-Mart offer).

lol.....that is so harsh. People who don't know any better will think they are getting a 1080p unconverted with all these fancy internet features and the likes.

Little do they know, they get mere 1080i and none of these features work on the DVD's then are planning on upconverting.

Now that Toshiba is giving players away with TVs, we can fully expect Toshiba to quickly regain their SA lead. That's the only way Sony was able to do it. Right? Stay tuned for a Toshiba press release any week now.
