Do all HD DVD and BD players advertise the "Upconvert" part before the HD or BD part? Just curious since I haven't been to a BB in ages.

The super Wal-Mart in my town here has upconverting before their HD-DVD, but the Blu-ray players just have it as a little bullet below the "1080p BLu-ray player"

No but I wouldn't be surprised if Blu-ray players start being advertised in the same manner.
