The popular open source media player VLC just went live with version 1.0 promising even greater playback possibilities.

VLC is great for playing just about any type of video, but i prefer GOM when possible because it seems to have better video quality

I'm not upgrading from .8.6 version of vlc! I just don't like the newer versions.
