Default Apple's 1080p Trailers and HD DVD's

Just set up my iMac (2.0GHz C2D with the ATi X1400) with my 37" LC-37D90U 1080p...I'm watching Apple/QuickTime's 1080p Full HD trailers, right now Smokin' Aces.

It's stunning! Is this what we can expect or more?

I tried to buy that TV...
Now I am waiting for the LC-37GP1U. It has an additional HDMI port and it is made to be a gaming LCD.

It will be connected to my PS3, PC digital cable from Comcast and this spring I will add the HD-A20 HD DVD player.

Apple's collection of HD trailers is amazing. I wish we could get some WMV formated versions on MS's site though. I'd love to put them on a key drive and stream them on my 360 What's with the WMV HD gallery anyway? The same crap's been on there for over a year.

I bought the 42" inch version of that sharp. ended up taking it back to CC and getting a bravia.

The contrast ratios for the sharps under 46" are false. It still was a good picture, and I would have kept the sharp except i went in to CC and they had mispriced the bravia for nearly $800 under what it should have been. The manager was really cool and gave it to me for the marked price

But I love me some apple 1080p trailers. my only gripe is that i cant stream them to my xbox.

I was actually thinking of converting the trailers to 1080p WMV myself since I have the software to do it, but I don't think the render times would be worth it.

My biggest beef with Apple trailers has always been the inability to save them (unless you upgraded Quicktime). However, I've found this app which allows you to do just that, it's called Quicktime Alternative. Recommended!

Vc1 is an MS format, so I guess you must hate most HD DVDs and a bunch of Blu Ray disks

VC-1 is a codec not a software program, big difference. and since the hd dvd players use linux operating system, i say its safe to watch hd dvds. which is what i do now with my new hd dvd player

o and btw...i guarantee u microsoft didnt create it, they may own it, and tweaked it and what not, but i guarantee u that they did not start it from scratch without stealing or buying off something else to get the ball rolling. any IT guy will tell u.

well well perhaps if you read what Pat h said, he didnt claim it to be a software package, he merely said microsoft owned it.

And as for the whole microsoft owning it, well the fact of life is they own it and no matter what any "IT guy" says this is not going to change perhaps you need to get some better sources from who created it as well as i can see no definitive direct source to who made it before microsoft, unless you have the facts dont make the statements.

Actually I had read what he said and what I was implying was that microsoft software (aka Windows XP/Vista) is not the same as a codec (VC-1). And microsoft may own vc-1, but as I said they did not create all of it. Which is probably a good thing. Now, I never said i wanted that to change. But you must understand that Microsoft has never nor will they ever trully create anything on their own. Look at windows, you really think they made that completely by scratch on their own...i dont think so. You dont believe me look it up. Hell they even made a movie about it (Pirates of Silicon Valley) Watch it or read the book. Also here is a site that says that other companies were involved in the development of VC-1 besides microsoft...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VC-1

that site even contains other reference sites you can check out as well that says other companies were involved. Initially VC-1 was an open source, like Linux is.

BTW Windows was actually stolen by Apple Comp...just FYI.
