Default requirements for 1080p

what are the minimum requirements to play video at 1080p?

I have downloaded a few x264, wmv hd, vc-1 files but they are all "jerky" or mess up during playback, prob because the system cannot handle it. I currently have two pcs, macbook 2.2ghz duo2, 1gb ram and a desktop with 3.0ghz, 2gb ram and gforce4 6800GT

2.2GHz doesn't exist in the Macbook line. You either mean that you have a 2.2GHz Macbook Pro or a different speed of Core 2 Duo in your MacBook.

If it's a 2.2GHz MBP then the machine more than meets the Specs for 1080p AVC(h.264)/VC-1/MPEG-2.

The Macbook should also play full 1080p fine. You may want to upgrade your RAM... you shouldn't have to upgrade though.

As for the PC it's a 3.0GHz what???? 2GB and a 6800GT are good for HD.

Your problem is possibly from the files themselves. Download a 1080p QT trailer from Apple. If the QT video is fine on the Macbook or PC then it's your file.
