Default Need help on Plasma TV's:

So I'm looking to upgrade my HDTV and I'm looking at Panasonic Plasma's (if someone wants to make a case for Samsung I can hear it).

I want 50" and I see the S1, G10 and V10 lines. G15 I've heard is the exact same as the G10 except for cosmetic so I'll go for the slightly cheaper G10.

Does anyone know anything about either of these three models? Is there a deal breaker in any of these sets for gaming/blu-ray/tv use? Most of the specs between them seem the same

Thanks.

I just bought am S1 50 inch from Best Buy for $999 with a DMP-BD80 thrown in for $100. So far I am very happy with the picture quality. Obviously it is not broken in yet so I think it will look even better after the first 100 hours or so. The only negatives I have read in reviews is that detailed color calibration (Gamma, Color Temp, etc.) is not available in the regular user interface. The adjustments to regular settings such as contrast, sharpness and brightness have satisfied me, though. It is a pretty smokin' panel for the price.

I was at BB yesterday to do a side by side comparison with LCDs and LCD LEDs because of the user reviews I read that the picture looks too dark for these S1s and they are indeed too dark compared to the LCDs and LCD LEDs.
I had no time for an associate to adjust the picture for me so I can see if the dark picture can be adjusted.

How is your plasma regarding this dark picture issue?

I have only had it for two days and don't have my Dish HD hooked up to it yet (have to wait until Saturday...arghhh). I have hooked up my BD player to it and thought the picture looked glorious. I would not say it is too dark....BUT if you are comparing it to an LCD, it will look darker. Plasma, by nature does not have the "brightness" of LCD. Many folks (myself included) prefer the "darker" look of the plasma as skin tones are more natural and blacks much deeper and true.

The V10 is substantially higher in price but it offers 96hz refresh which the G10 doesn't have and I've heard the G10 has a flickering problem.
