i'd take a popcorn hour over this any day. sure it's a little more money, but i think it's worth it. the great thing is it's all customizable through html or pre-built programs that you just plug in your info for...

here's a few pictures of mine in action...

I'd be down for one. Dirt cheap and functional is all I'm looking for at the moment. I'm forbidden from buying a second "does it all" PS3, so this would at least get me streaming videos in more than one room in the house. As nice as another PS3 or popcorn hour would be, you can't beat cheap, even with as ugly and squat as this is.

Seems very cool for the price, but for me personally it's no lossless no sale. I've already got 2 PS3s, so I'm on the lookout for something that can decode lossless codecs for me to switch.

I recently snagged one of the Seagate FreeAgent Theater+. While the interface is relatively horrid and it's rough around the edges, it will connect to my FreeNAS and play just about everything like the Popcorn does. Also, the source is GPL so once the uber-nerds get wind of this, I am hoping that this will become a hacker's wet dream.

My ideal device in this direction is a MacMini running PLEX or an Apple TV with XBMC on it.
