I sure hope they figure out a way to increase the range. I can’t wait to get cancer from my neighbor’s television.

I don't know specifically about Sony's wireless power solution, but I know that mainstream wireless power is supposed to do so using magnetic fields, so no radiation would be involved IIRC.

Correct - from my link above:

Quote:
Unlike current inductive charging technology that still requires physical contact point for charging such as those being implemented in Dell Latitude Z or Palm Pre solution, the solution from Sony based on magnetic resonance technique is claimed to be able to have true wireless energy transmission and more importantly, it can achieve much higher power delivery suitable for any power-hunger applications.

So it should only sterilize you as opposed to actually causing cells to mutate. That's comforting.

He is afraid of what he does not understand.

Its actually not that complicated of a physics concept. Its just the relationship between magnetism and electricity. It was only a matter of time until someone perfected and commercialized it.

Very low levels of juice can be generated this way. Perfectly safe resonance has been used since the first transistor radios. Yes magnetic resonance imaging is yet another application. I think thats going to be in developement for a while before we are soaking up free energy.
